Helium

Define your helium valve duty.

Helium installations can contain very different temperature zones. Define the actual fluid and temperature at the valve before selecting the construction.

6 LN2 auxiliary references · Specifications & datasheets

Illustrative application setting. Project arrangements vary.

The application

Separate the helium circuit from its auxiliaries.

Liquid helium near atmospheric pressure is approximately −269°C. That duty extends below the published temperature limits of the valves in this catalogue. We review liquid-helium requirements separately; the browseable products on this page serve associated liquid-nitrogen pre-cooling circuits where specified.

01

Liquid-helium cold end

A dedicated engineering enquiry based on temperature, leakage criteria and the cryostat interface.

02

Nitrogen pre-cooling

Published LN2 valve selections for associated pre-cooling and auxiliary pipework.

03

Recovery & test circuits

Identify the gas state, pressure, temperature and cleanliness for each individual valve duty.

Selection essentials

What defines the right configuration?

Temperature zone
Actual minimum and maximum temperature at each valve.
Leakage & purity
Test method, acceptance criteria and cleanliness.
Thermal interface
Insulation, heat-leak budget, pipe arrangement and access.
Operating duty
Fluid state, flow cases, pressure differential and actuation.

Full catalogue

These products explicitly list liquid nitrogen. They are shown for associated LN2 circuits in helium installations; they are not listed as liquid-helium or 4 K valves.
